The Aon sliding-block puzzle: drag blocks and the red ball across the grid – each piece slides until it hits another piece, a fixed screw or the wall – and route the ball onto the hole in as few moves as possible. 13 puzzles, one shared 6-minute timer, and a skip option whose smart use is part of the skill. The simulator reproduces the official tutorial, the move counter and the level-by-level progression.

Nomura screens its candidates with an Aon-style battery whose opening section surprises almost everyone: a sliding-block puzzle game, closer in appearance to a mobile game than to a finance test, in which your planning ability is measured by how few moves you need – and how wisely you skip. Then comes a numerical section that hides its difficulty in navigation: 18 true / false / cannot say statements with the relevant figures spread across 6 tabbed data sheets, all inside 6 minutes. A 55-pair behavioural questionnaire closes the assessment.

These formats reward candidates who already know them.
